In Pursuit of political and economic freedom of Africa
To promote peace and security, justice and equity; creating the enabling environment that fosters growth and development
ABOUT KENNETH KAUNDA FOUNDATION
I, Kenneth David Kaunda, my fellow comrades, and the founding fathers of Africa had a dream about our continent. Our priority was the attainment of political independence though we also had long term goals for the continent. We knew that with independence, generations would, in freedom; dignity and harmony build this continent to prosperity.
As an old freedom fighter, I have always cherished with fond memories the great things they did for us all.
Yes, with great love and respect I have often made reference to these Africa’s founding fathers. I knew them – those patriots who had the courage to wage a relentless struggle for the liberation of Africa from colonial bondage – Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Patrice Lumumba of Congo (DRC), Jomo Kenyata of Kenya, Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, etc. Indeed they represent our struggle as a people against all forms of injustice.
Africa today is facing many daunting challenges, ranging from poverty, infrastructure deficiency, terrorism, corruption, political instability, poor health care, poor education, ethnicity, racism, mental slavery, religious bigotry, etc.
It is in the light of all these challenges that the Kenneth Kaunda Foundation has positioned itself to engage patriotic African scholars, intellectuals, technocrats, think-tanks, youths, religious leaders, and heads of Governments, traditional rulers, etc., to brainstorm and develop a blue print of practical solutions for the economic emancipation of Africa.
